What We Do
A Gift from the Heart is dedicated to empowering young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing them with invaluable job training and vocational skills.
Through our innovative program, the organization aims to foster independence and self-sufficiency in these individuals while also continuing to nurture their personal growth and development.
Benefits
The young adults who participate in A Gift from the Heart’s initiatives are given the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills from creative design and product creation to packaging and retail sales.
Each participant works within the scope of their unique abilities but is constantly encouraged to step outside their comfort zone and acquire new capabilities.
Our shop serves as a hands-on training ground, where our adults can put their growing skills into practice by creating, packaging, and selling an array of handcrafted items. Our gift shop is open when the training programs are in session, ensuring that the focus remains squarely on the educational and empowerment aspects of our endeavor.
Through this multifaceted approach, A Gift from the Heart is making a tangible difference in the lives of the adults that participate in our program, equipping them with the tools and confidence they need to lead independent, fulfilling lives.
